She17 gets behind We Shall Overcome 4 October

Shortly after the general election on 8 May, we were approached on Walthamstow Musicians’ Facebook Page  along with other E17 based promoters and venues to put on a show as part of a national weekend of fundraising through music for those hardest hit by the austerity measures being imposed by this Conservative government. Our designated time slot is on  4th October in the afternoon. We now have agreed with a local venue to host an afternoon of She17ness. It will be  at Ye Olde Rose & Crown main bar as part of this nationwide weekend of action.

With still more acts to confirm we can say for now This Is Cleo, Jessie Godwin, Waltham Forest Voices, Sulk and and a local bluegrass trio will be providing the songs.  We will be collecting for a local charity of choice and will announce who nearer the time, but expect it to be in the under-represented and hard hit area of disability services!  Admission is free but you’ll be expected to donate. The show will start 2.30pm and end at about  5pm.  Later that evening the Walthamstow Folk Club will also be hosting an event at the same venue for the same cause.
