This year’s We Shall Overcome Weekend She17 event took place on Sunday 9th October at Hucks Cafe on Grove Road and was in aid of AgeUKWF.
Women and girls aged 13-53 performed to a packed cafe and £141.90 was collected in the magic Mariache17 hat.
First up were Mariache17 with their upbeat fun blend of the sounds of Hispanic with an urban E17 twist. 13 year Cara Consiglio playesd uke and sang, followed by Jemma Engle & Tensin Lobsang also 13 who played and sang a song together on guitar and uke, before Jemma did her own song solo.
Sam Kurt played a four song set after the break and then Sulk returned for the first time since May (Angie Hillcoat Tracy Dover and Kimmi Watson) with a four song set too.
More Peas (Lucy Bantam and Muriel Go) closed the event with some great percussive audience participation.
